ok so an update on what im doing ive sourced an eb xr6 engine. gonna put it on the rotisserie and have a fiddle replace vac lines new gaskets etc. any little tips tricks while im at it or is it simply a time and money thing. will blocking vac lines stop oil in my manifold or should i get a catch can setup. or should i block pcv and run the rear vent to a mini air breather as sick of sludge in my manifold. is there a simple solution to that.

should i do welsh plugs while im at it how often do they fail. wat else should i do while its out and easy.

any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks guys and girls

do all your welsh plugs and flush the motor while they're out, do the head gasket and from what i've read use the au head bolts and gasket, sump gasket and front and rear seals.

no good found a spot where head gasket was leaking out the side of engine removed head turns out there was no coolent ever run in motor.some water jackets were clogged completely some just a little with some sort of gritty s**t. no corrosion around jacket holes which is good so still servicable head. turned from simple stuff to christ gonna cost some money now. oh and all the timing chain guides are snapped bottom one was floating in sump doin backstroke top guide not adjuster snapped in half can you get these new or is it a wreckers thing.

any one having a doco on this would be great a link would be better any little stupid things to watch for and a straight 'how to' for timing chain tensioner would be invaluable

thanks again guys this site is an information fountain and it helps a lot
