You tend to see EA's go cheap but IMO they arent a good looker but they last forever. Like many people here have said. Get a EF/EL. If you want a I6 of V8 its up to you. I have a mate with a V8 fairmont but its got problems. If he drives like a grandma which is the only was he can drive he gets 16-17L/100KM. if i drive my I6 like a total grandma i get 13L/100km and down to 12 but that doesnt include city driving. EF/EL is harder to steal, especially if u are leaving it at a train station. You also tend to find that a EF less expensive then a VR commodore (well in SA it is) and thats because they just dont sell. Young guys see a commodore and it may have mags and it makes it a sick car. Ford will be a easier car to find and buy IMO and its because of that reason. Ohhhh BTW u put a LS7 in your commodore yet???? You know the LS7 is a 7 liter version of the LS2 and kicks f**k hard.

Personally, i think if you are leaving it at a train station, get an E-Series with Smartlock, install a second ignition barrel under the dash so that you have to have 2 keys in to start the car, therefore making it harder to steal, if not, the VS would be better than a VN-VR Commo, but fuel usage can be excessive in a V6 Commo, a mate of mine has a VS V6 and driving like a granny gets 16-17L/100km, i get around 12-13 in my ED when i drive like a granny

Something is f**k with his car then, the v6 commos always had better fuel economy, if anything they're just lighter. |

Lol, any EFI turns into a gas guzzler at the drop of a hat. All it takes is one sensor to be playing silly buggers....

Still havent got the hang of this whole forum thing yet have you
"6 cylinder workshop" is for talking about "6 cylinder engines", not comparing the +/- of getting different model cars. I know its a crazy idea, but how about next time you make the effort and put your threads where they belong.

Love it Stockstandard...now wonder you are up there with the most informative and least postwhore in the site! Anyone that gives EB_V8 curry is a friend of mine . To add my 2 cents worth...my eb 1 (6) gets 10l/100k even when I drive it around Adleaide so either it is extremely economical or there is something wrong with the others. You would have to beleive a newer car should get better milage. BTW my ute gets around 17l/100k but it has the aerodynamics of a brick so that is not a fair comparison
