yeah when i got my second hand engine from grant walker *shudders* it had a blown head gasket and worped head. At the machining joint, they said it had a 3-4mm rock in it. so in the process of trying to straighten it, they snapped the head in half  anyways my mechanic arranged a reco head for $380. so i would be saying to shop around as well OR take up XR8 dismantler on his offer as it is VERY VERY VERY good.

yeah that sounds pretty nasty comhelp...

I'm very very very keen on xr8dismantlers offer, providing it hasnt done high k's

as my current engine has only done 148,500 (though its f**k) I'd prefer to get something around that range.. I dont want to be stuck with something that has done close to 200,000
