hi guys..

The last few nights coming home from taking the missus to work my car has been acting funny..

acting funny as in ill be driving along with power mode on, and the dash will just cut out, like the revs and everything will drop as if it's resetting itself, and the economy light would flash up on the dash even though considering it was in pwr mode, usually the engine would drop down too but normally they'd pick up...

Well last night they dident and it stalled at a set of lights, I tried a few times to kick it over but it would just turn and turn and turn over but wouldent start, yet it was turning over.. also other times i'd try to start it i'd turn the key and it would do nothing at all no click or anything, just as if the battery had been d/c.

Also when all this was happening and I turned the ignition onto reds the dash cluster would making a clicking noise and everything would flash like its resetting itself constantly.. Also when I done this it was making a ticking noise under the bonnet too, seemed as though it was coming from underneth the intake ..

After about 1/2 an hour it was fine to start and everything was normal untill I got back home and stopped it and tried starting it again.

Any ideas? Gotta find & fix this prob ASAP.

Regards,
Rob

sounds liek it could be a bad connection to the battery

take the battery connectors off and give me a good cleaning

also see if the cable to the conncectors have started to corrode around them corrosion increases resitance

ummm my car did that too once. recently my car kept losing power and everything would reset and then the car would stop running and then turn itself on again and then back to normal as it settles in. got my Dizzy cap coil and something else replaced and now is running fine. check if ur wires are tightly connected becos when my car didn't turn over was becos i had all these loose wires which i had to reconnect.

hope that helps a little

cheers
phong

mine went through a stage when it was contantly stalling TWICE. the firs time the fuel pump had s**t itself, and the second the leads were dead.

however as far the flashing lights etc. i have no idea.
