I need to find out what sort of engine i have. the engine number is JLCMTL12791.

I have bought a new tappet cover gasket form my NL fairlane and was supplied with one for an ED and told it will fit. it is miles to big.

I have bodgied something up that will likely leak like hell but i need to know what type of engine that is as it has been replaced by ford and i am not sure what car it is out of. likes very AU too me but i am not an expert.

late ed. ef/el and au use a thin rubber seal where ea,eb and early ed use a thicker rubber gasket type seal..

go back to who sold it to you and tell them they are idiots...lol

and just for something to do I searched your engine number on ford etis and its from..
