Guys, need to find the engine number of my Sis in laws ED. The engine was supposed to have been changed to another second hand one by a mechanic but I reckon there's dodgy stuff going on for sure. The engine is still coated in oil on the drivers side of the block, just like the old one, the power steering pump and the engine mounts re still covered in oil, just like the old one etc . If I can get the engine number and check it against the number on the rego label then I can prove or dissprove what I suspect. If possible I 'd like to do it tomorrow if someone can show me where to look...

No receipt! They said to her that would mean she would have to pay the extra 10% GST. I'm stewing here at work at the moment, my sis in law really needs the car and today when I saw it, and this is two weeks out of getting the engine changed( appparently the father in law actually bought a good secondhand engine and actually took it to the mechanics for it to be changed), the car needed about half a litre of oil, was VERY VERY low in coolant and had no powersteering fluid showing on the stick. If they have changed tghe engine they have done it without touching the engine mount bolts etc as they look like they haven't been touched (read completely caked in grime, not just fresh oil) so I'll now go check the number tomorrow and thanks guys for hte replies, much appreciated..
