Hey guys, I need a 70amp relay for my headlight circuit since putting brighter globes in.
Low beams work fine, when I put high beams on there is too much draw and the relay wigs out. Anyone got a part number or similar from hella or similar? Or even a relay you want to let go of that will suit my needs? Cheers

Which relay are you talking about Dave??
The circuit breaker under the coolant bottle ?? EDIT: Just read your WTB - might be cheaper to have 2 x 40 amp relays running your high beams separately. Easy enough to wire in.

Snap I just had a good look at the CB, that is my issue, not the relay.. The CB is stuffed. plugs burnt as an english backpacker on bondi beach!
This will be getting resolved tonight! I have a spare "2nd hand" CB at home of known condition. a new CB is ariving on monday. Turns out nothing wrong with my relay after all. I was banging my head on a wall for ages trying to diagnose this issue. Its not that I overlooked the CB, its that I completly forgot about it all together!! So in colsing is anyone wants to use the search if they have issues with low beams working fine, turn on high beams and after a minute or 2 or 3 every light that Ford gave you to drive with turns off.. Check your CB under the overflow bottle. I will put up some happy snaps of what to look for and how easy it is to replace to fix the issue.

Yeah, thought it might be the CB - being under the coolant bottle, it is in a good line for water leaking.

yeah I know, even with the shroud on it, 15 years old, its had a good life, off to greener pastures. when I got the car, everything leaked including the overflow bottle.
Since I got it everything has been replaced that once leaked. I just used the high beams so infrequently that I never noticed, I am sure its been an issue for a long time, its just come to a head that I was motivated to do something about it. not being all that electrically minded, and hearing the relay clicking open and closed i assumed this was the issue, when i swapped it out for a good one and it continued, I assumed too much draw, me being me, neglected to think about the CB. I knew it was there, just never entered my head.

Yeah forgotten the rating of the CB - 30 amps ??
Easy enough to work out the current draw of the lights are giving it a hammering. I suppose if you had to, you could run two CB's, one to power each side of lights.

yeah its 30amp rated, just replaced it with a known working one. From an even older car! EB parts car still coming in handy. but its gotta go soon.
