Angle grinder with a wire wheel attachment is what I would use. Bunnings or any other hardware store sells them.

Actually i had them in a small amount of water in the bath when i used wet and dry

I have heard others had done this and I figured the insides will have constant fumes going through it and wont rust and the outside will be painted over anyway.

As for warming them up before spraying, yeh if ya can do it, in the sun for a hour prior is better apparently but i wasnt able to as was winter and i had nothing to warm them up with.

well what if i just keep constantly hosing them down with water every few mins whilst im sanding?? i was planning to use the heat gun on most of it.like heat them up then spray em?did yours end up pealing?
