Apologies if this has been previously addressed, however I completed a search without sucess.

I have a 6 cylinder, XH ute that developed a coolant drinking habit and after a bit of a search, I found a leak from the radiator.

It has an automatic transition.

Does anyone have any idea of what a reasonable price to get it replaced (or repaired...hopefully)?

From the previous posts that I have seen, could I assume that 10 years or so from the original was a reasonable run (i.e. I havent been doing any thing too bad to it)? Any reccomendations for the replacement radiator (or to get a good life out of it)? I dont do anything serious with the ute it, just a "daily driver".
The tranmission is "sealed for life" this may be a good oppurtunity to get it flushed.

What the A auto should be serviced at least once a year.

As for the radiator a mate is currently having his ED radiator replaced by a shop, $330.
I replaced the radiator in my EL for $170 with a Natrad radiator

Thanks for the info. I bought the vehicle 2nd hand. It is one of those "sealed for life" units. It does not have a dipstick etc. I asked around at the time (auto trans places) and they said to leave it alone. I am thinking as the radiator people will have to disturb the auto cooler lines, it may be a good opurterunity to get it flushed.
I have been resisting flushing it as I figured if I put new oil in it after it has had the same oil for so long, I may get leaks etc.
I dont have a choice anymore now.

I suggest you get a second opinion from a real transmission workshop.
Yes they don't have a dipstick. This is more about preventing the owner from inadvertently adding the wrong fluid than having it "Sealed for Life" No maintenance!
Every transmission needs to be serviced or it will fail. They have a filter inside that must be changed and ATF deteriorates over time just like engine oil. I have mine serviced once a year (around 20,000kms).

Bought my radiator, brand new in the box off of eBay for $120. Fitted in in about 30 minutes, no problems.

If interested, the new radiator was 250 + fitting. I guess others may have done better, however I didnt have time to look around.
I had the auto serviced at the same time, it feels different.

Yes, it is not as "doughy" as it used to be. I feel "transmission" a lot earlier, when giving the accelerator a poke.

Did you see the colour of the fluid that came out of the auto???

By the sounds of it though ... it needed servicing anyway if it shifts firmer now.

Not a bad price for the radiator ... as it's meant for auto as well ... not sure in the XH's though ... did they have the transmission cooler integrated in that radiator like my AU does????

I havent reviewed how the auto tranmission cooler works. I know the transmission hooks into the radiator, then after that I am unsure..sorry.
I didnt get to see the oil, however as I supsect it would have been the same age as the car (10 years), I suspect it has seen fair service..
