just go to the wreckers and get an old set of hla's (hydraulic lifter assemblys) off a wreck and pull the extra shims out of that and use them

Just from a standard EL?

first of all, your profile says 1998 EL, which 'could' mean its a hybrid, which 'could' mean you could do alot of damage fitting that e-series cam to your AU/EL hybrid motor

a search on this site should give you info on what engine you got

It's not a hybrid I don't think as it was build during the start of the year, and I'm pretty sure the hybrids where in the second half of the year.

fair enough mate, as long as your sure.

Wade cams usually grind of the right amount so that you only need an extra shim which is the same thickness that you already have in each lifter. So your car would need an extra 11mm diameter and 1.9mm thick shim in each lifter, roughly $70 from Ford for a set of 12, or like the wank said, you can pillage a set from an EF/EL wreck for alot cheaper

However 1521a's were usually only ground as a billet, because there was a need for more shims on top of what the other grinds use. So if you running a reground 1521a, best you contact Wade cams to find out exactly what you need
