Called supercheat auto. They have POWERMAX water pumps (MADE IN JAPAN) for $55 plus 30 or so for the pulley.

Made in Japan, they'd have to be pretty good quality wouldn't they?

well i got a new genuine pbr one on ebay for $60 a while back. try and get a new one if u can as a 2nd hand is likely to have the same problems.

i wouldnt bother ringing ford for a price unless u wanna be violated (i suspect they'd want well over $100)

mine was leaking like that for a few months before i got around to fixing it. i'd probably just keep a look out on ebay for one and if you see one then grab it. just make sure u keep ur brake fluid at the right level until u get a new master cylinder.

p.s brake fluid does wreck the paint (although who really cares about the paint in the engine bay).

Haha, yeah you can see where it completely eroded paint away on the big metal frame bar below.

Yeah I'll keep an eye on ebay for the master cylinder, what a bloody rip.

Genuine Ford pump, no question. Better design and quality (one part they did design really well). Bayford sell them for $68, with pulley, delivered on ebay regularly.

I called up ford and they said $140 odd as well. I was told GMB works just as well as the Genuine Ford pump. Checked up on Ebay and found no genuine ford pumps for $68 =( booo

They come and go, depends on Bayford's stocks. So gotta check weekly. Sometimes they get snapped up quickly. Last time they had 3 one there, I bought all 3.

I've had a GMB pump in my car before, and they dont not work as well as the genuine pump. Line them up side by side and you will see the differences in design and quality.

Well I got cheap and bought the powermax, but I also appreciate how a cool engine is important to the I6 so I'll return it when I can and go genuine.

Thanks arm79 and everyone.

Lol but it's a good point about the fins and all that. If the genuine is a better donk, better designed and will look after the I6 better, well that's all I need to know. Just a shame about the quite large price difference.

But I did pay $70 for two wiper blade holders (includes blades, does not include wiper arm), so I'm getting used to it, lol. God I was an idiot to get aftermarket wiper blade holders that skipped all over the windscreen and faded within weeks.

Ever since I got an aftermarket front left indicator, I've been a bit more cautious with aftermarket products, dodgy fit.

Good to have good contacts like that Horris. Think I'm going to have a hard time coming by a cheap genuine master cylinder, new.
