This is old news, I mean come on, you sent the sms this morning LOL.

Since he's to lazy to reply, he's not going turbo, we're both chasing 180-200rwkws N/A no NOS.

I know you have already sent the engine off but I had some work done out at Toronto Head Service by the owner Scott. He did the regrind, hone and other bits and pieces on my clevo, heaps cheaper than anyone else, top job and great to deal with. Maybe keep him in mind

thanks dude yeah all im getting done is the bottom end work, the head has already been done, he said the bottom end looks pretty healthy so its not going to need much its getting acid dipped, bearings rings and a rehone at this stage.. the head is there getting some heli-coils but thats it, he said 1200-1500 so thats pretty reasonable

I paid from memory $200 for a crank grind, $50 for a hone, $5 each piston pin to be put on and I think $50 to install cam bearings. Maybe some other stuff but can't remember then I built the engine myself. My heads were already flowed and the crank and rods were already balanced.

nice! you no im not sure if my quote included oversized pistons... rebore if it needed it. hopefully wont need that !

UPDATE FOR FAIRNOBXR6 lol

Engine is in the shop: They found the bottom end is f**k tidy! just needs rings, bearings, rehone and walaa!, they are upping my compression to 10:1, 17thou off the block, and just a smidgen more off the head. They are ordering me a wild camtech cam! wooo not much smaller than my Surecam but tighter lobe separation (110).
RPM RANGE 2800-7000 hehehe i wont be going over 6000 lol poor au motor

Now the s**t.... they found that my Tickford head had 39MM exhaust valves fitted and were almost f**k as they are to small, (Supposed to be 41mm) and one intake valve was slightly bent WTF HEADSENSE! so it wasnt sealing very well if at all they rekon and i went in and had a look WTF.. so they are putting new valves in, heli-coiling the head where the previous owner f**k it up. So i should have a fast AU XR6 4.0L Soon

so im happy and p****d off at the same time because the head work wasnt cheap but s**t happens.

The end quote for everything including the cam is $2000 so thats not bad i think.

CAM SPECS:

Fair idle, good mid range and top end power. Designed for engines with limited modifications. Min comp ratio 9.5:1.
RPM RANGE 2800-7000, Manual or Hi-Stall. Cam timing intake 23-63 exhaust 63-23, Duration '266 in/ex , Cam lift 265 in/ex. Lobe separation 110.

Im heading in there today anything else ill let ya know.

need to get some more goodies now, EL alloy radiator, and thermos.

might start pulling out my old engine this weekend coming, sand it prep it n paint it.

is an old motor worth anything in scrap IE the alloy head?
