a recent problem(?) came up with my EA but it only happens at night, what happens is i can drive it normally during the day and you would never know there was a problem, but as soon as the sun sets there comes a terrable shreiking sound from around the front of the engine bay as soon as power is applied then as soon as the sun rises again the noise vanishes it sounds like the belts are slipping but alot louder and only during the night, whats going on?!?

loose alternator belt. it may be outting more current on the alternator with headligts thus making the pulley harder to turn...
acually thats just a drunk thought but u never know

checked the alternator belt, its as tight as, a freind of mine mentioned it might be the fact that my belts are getting old, dried and crappy - just like life isnt it lol, so i might get some belt grip.

That alternator/fan belt has to be tighter than tight. I thought mine was tight, but even tighter fixed it.

i tightened mine up too tight and shredded it to pieces when the car was bouncing of the limiter

For the price of belt grip why not just replace the belt? |

Belt grip lasts about a day, good to do for a customer when they're standing there but that's about it.
If the belts don't fix it then you have pulley problems, it's as simple as that. |
