an EF 6 cyl cannot be adjusted because they don't run a dizzy... The run a cam angle sensor in its place and a coil pack instead...
The 5.0L windsor will have a dizzy and hence the timing can be adjusted...
On the 6 cyl with a dizzy you need to put it in test mode (either short the pins or if you own the computer tester plug it in and start a run test) and once the revs drop back down this is where you set the base timing (timing advances when running, governed by computer and TFI module), you will have around 1 minute to set the timing from here... And then you get your test light out and check it the mark and turn the dizzy til you get it where you want it... 5.0L is 30BTDC I think?
This process is for the 6cyl dizzy models, I'm guessing the 8's are the same...
Cheers,
Tim
