What NM Torque figures have people got on their standard or modified i6 engines.

Don't think so.

opto wrote: gogetta wrote: dyno torque figures are meaningless Don't think so. They are. Dyno's basically measure the torque applied by the wheels to the rollers, it is NOT engine torque. Changing gears, diff ratios or tire size will change the 'torque'. Because of the way the dyno's measure power these variables cancel each other out and you get a true power reading. Just look at the torque lines on graphs for NA I6's - it will range anywhere form 300NM to 550NM for engines with around the same power. The only way to calculate something close to engine torque is to take the power graph and work backwards (messy).

Well is there another way of finding out how much torque? phong =P~

well how do you hook it to your motor?

It mounts directly to your wheel axle hub.

Doesnt matter how the dyno connects to the car, the measurements still work the same.

you are going to still get a different torque figure as it depends on what gear your in and what your diff ratio is...

Agreed, but when the output torque is supplied and the ratio then with reasonable accuracy the engine output can be obtained.
