hey fellas, i did the broadband manifold conversion to my EA with an AU motor and i found i have no spark although nothing to do with the ignition system was touched. the coil has ample power to it but it wont give off a spark. i have replaced the ignition module with one off another distributor but still nothing, however this one could be stuffed too. what i want to know is what else is there that could stop the car from giving off spark if its not the ignition module? cheers guys!

If the TFI module on the distributor doesn't work (or isn't getting the propper signals), it won't send a signal to activate the coil.

I have replaced it with another module off an old dizzy that I had laying around, but no idea if it was a working module because it didn't fix the problem, could well have s**t itself as it was from an old dizzy. Is there a way to test the module itself? Also, what signals could be stuffed up? Before the BBM went in everything was working 100% fine. Cheers

Well the hall effect sensor in the dizzy signals the ECU about when to fire the coil, But unlikely that would just die. I tried replacing the TFI on the dizzy in my car and lost all spark. Turned out the plug inside the dizzy where the tfi goes into was a bit old, and the plastic had broken when removing it. So the TFI was located on the dizzy but it wasnt actually plugged in:p Might be worth checking that. Also to check it's working, if you rotate the dizzy cap with the ignition on it will activate the fuel pump. Unless the coil is just a deader?

I've had 3 or four in the car and to make sure they work, I've put them in an EL and it starts. I'll give the TFI module test a go, thanks heaps for that.
