as you can see by the name of the topic, this is not going to be another pod vs panel filter debate, i think everyone has made up their mind by now. Im asking about intake down to front bumper.
Does cutting a hole in the bottom of the airbox, and running a tube down to front bumper give u much better response and that? and does it work with a panel filter or only pods? Has anyone done this that can show me pictures on how they did it, and lastly, whats the best stuff to use for the tubing? Cheers |

i did it by using some industrial vacuum tubing bout 90mm dia. cost bout $12 p/m just used a rotary tool to cut box then an angle grinder to cut through steel trimed any rough bits with the rotary tool then ran it down to the bar, didn't notice a huge difference in performance little better response, the biggest difference was the amount of bugs and s**t i get on the underside of my filter now always cleaning it. my be an idea to use some fly screen somewhere in the mix to try and stop this.

My biggest concern would be driving through water and flooding it.

i HAVE DONE this
no real gains, maybe on a dyno, but i cannot feel a 1>2rwkw gain. but i will say this, i know it did flow the air up to the pod, i had the tube running from the bumper and it was connected against the pod, when i removed it the pod had a dirt circle where the tube was. |

so do they still work with a panel filter or only pod?

Both would work. If you have the extra piping installed there is still going to be extra airflow into the box, so they will both work.
