Hey guys i fixed that water leak i had from water pump and i went for a drive today and u wouldn't beleave it she did the dog on my and water in the oil.

Im hopping it just the gasket so bad but at same time not. I would love to slap a XR6 head on LOL

I was thinking of putting a better head gasket in or something like a copper one or something

What do u guys recon the best gaskets to use????

Im not ganna lie i do have a heavy foot so something that will last would be great

also i got to put extractors on and that head so i was thinking of a ACL top end kit with a copper head gasket or just buy one seperate if can't get it in the kit.

If i remember right u got to get the head machined to fit a copper head gasket right???

So what do u guys think would be the best way to go?

AU head gaskets are good, they r metal and the equivilent of shaving the head 40 thou. and they will last a lot longer

AU head gasket hay

I won't have any problems with valves touching pistons or anything?

u know what my compression will go up to lol

that will be a fair bit higher that a xr6 ef lol right?

no machining the head for the gasket?

You will probably need to machine the head anyway

AU head gasket on xr6 puts the CR up to about 9.6

I wouldnt bother with the copper head gasket.

Cam timing is not a problem. Firstly cable tie the timing chain to the camshaft sprocket. For the bottom end, don't worry there isn't enough room for the chain to clear the teeth on the crankshaft sprocket. The bottom guide prevents this.

Im ganna start ripping my head off tonight and ill stay out there intill it off i don't give a s**t how long it takes as long as i get it off and to work then i can drop it off at a machining shop to crack test and maybe shave it as well.

Where to these heads normally crack so i know where to look before i spend money for them to look at the head and charge for something i could of don't simply

Any major things that i shoud look out for then doing the job?

Do u guys leave the timming chain tensoner on or u loosen it or remove it???

anything tips and things to look out for would be Grate

Thx
