G'day thrillseekers. Need a bit of help here. I had cause to remove my power steering pump the other day (broken cam chain guide) and stuffed the little o-ring thingy on the high pressure line. I bought another one, but can't seem to get it over the thread onto the brass fitting that goes into the rear of the p/s pump. It just seems too small. Have I been given the wrong o ring, or is there a special way of fitting it, or am I doing the wrong thing?

This is a white, very thin 0-ring that fits onto the right angle fitting that screws into the nut at the rear of the p/s pump.

After talking to my friendly power steering repair man, I find out that there are two o ring thingys. One goes down into the nut behind the p/s pump, and fits onto a "step" at the start of the thread on the ferule, and the other fits into a groove near the hex. on the ferule. This o ring is the hardest to get on, and needs to be worked on by using a thin metal needle or something similsr, and it also helps to put it into hot water before you start. But, as you said, it's not leaking at the moment, and if it ain't broke............ :D ?
