Yeah I understand that... But no air filter is perfect either... Wouldn't any car with or without emissions gear like this on it end up with all sorts of odds and ends in the manifold anyway?
I honestly thought if you just hooked a catch can set up in the line with the gauze and all that gear in it, the oil would stay in the can and let only fumes enter the intake... Factory cars get gunk in them because they have no separator... If you have the can it'd have to stop it would it? Or is what your saying that a catch can set up with the emissions gear set up properly, a complete waste of time? Cheers, Tim

They aren't a waste of time. Just on my old AU with the catch can setup legally it still sucked oil into the intake so I chose not to do this time.
It had forged pistons though which are fitted with more clearance than a stock motor which means more blowby. If the engine is in good condition then how you said is how they should work but once they get a bit of blowby they dont always work like that in my experience. |

timmytimtim wrote: Daz, When you say turbo intake to can... I am guessing this means the air filter side of the turbo? This is how I would've thought one should be plumbed so that when your cruising and have manifold vac you still get the draught through the rocker cover to suck out the fumes... Cheers, Tim Exactamundo kenny.....engine needs to under constant vacuum. Did you see how much oil wasnt in my can. Havent drained since i modded the function of it all. Wouldnt' have been a thimble full. If you're getting lots of oil in your intake, or can, then your motor has seen better days........ Cheers Daz
