Hey all, just wondering if anyone has a oil catch can? What are the benefits? I know alot of race and high performance cars run them is there any gains or does it help the engine in any way?

We only use oil catch cans as insurance against dropping oil on the track if the motor blows up. They don't do diddly for performance.

Consider yourself corrected.
Sorry man there's a reason they're called CATCH cans - they catch excess oil. That's it.

dry sump means your oil is stored in a external tank and is pumped into the engine

the catch can is used to catch oil and oil vapour that is pushed out through the rear of the rocker cover.
it also prevents any oil from being circulated back through the intake. which is usually created from engine blow bye, aspecially on turbo or supercharged engines.. |

So are they worth it?

i just fitted one a cheap one.. i had to put my own baffles in it to help draw oil out of the air suspension..
I dont believe having it empty is effective. You need to slow the air down quite alot to get the oil vapor out .. I plan to turbo eventually and im sick of a film of oil in my friggen intake manifold....
