Looking at fitting an Engine Oil Cooler. 3 types Finned, Core/Plate & Finned and tube. What would your preference be?

Have heard a lot of good reports on the Finned type, actually leaning that way at the moment but interested to see what others have to say. Want good flow as I don't want to restrict the oil flow.

I've only ever had Core style coolers, of which i've had 3.
no complaints.

i know nothing about the middle one, however plate & fin (3rd one) is alot more efficient than tube & fin (1st one)
so a tiny plate & fin cooler will do the same job as a large tube & fin Last edited by FordFairmont on Tue Jun 14, 2011 8:30 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

what about the B&M style coolers that are produced under various names ? Bar and plate I think they are referred to as.
