hey guys got a bit of a oil leak coming from the timing cover but the actually leak is coming from the top left timing cover bolt does this mean that the gasket is broken behind there so that the oil would leak through that and out the bolt? or could it be a crack somewhere there that would allow the oil to come through?

If it's the 10mm bolt that goes through the power steer pump bracket, pull it out, clean it up and put a little bit of sealant on the thread and pop it back in.

car still leaks oil after attempting to use some rtv silicon on the thread on the bolt but I think now its worse. its definitely not coming from the tensioner cause that is bone dry. looks like ill have to put the motor out to fix it.

oil leak is coming from the o-ring seal behind the timing cover up near the top left bolt. which then leaks out of the top bolt.

Got similar problem with 10mm bolt.
noticed oil leaking out of gap in bush on power steering bracket. I have recently had timing chain cover off I must have damaged gasket - I don't recall an o-ring here... For oil to be passing thread means that thread must end in an oil channel - would seem unlikely... So my guess is gasket failure.. or bolt too long... |
