This is probably a stupid question but i was wondering what reading the dipstick would give when the oil levels are dangerously low?

Anything below the 'Add' mark needs topping up. If your oil light comes on DON'T ignore it cos your engine could seize, pull over and get some oil in ASAP.

Well i would say that having no oil showing on the stick at all is dangerously low, or you could always wait for the motor to make clacking and knocking sounds i personaly wouldnt let my oil level drop out of the ok zone

Like Esteven8 said mate, If you see that oil light turn on, shut the engine off straight away and get oil..
