Hi all,
I'm new to the forum scene so this is my first post. I have a 1997 EL Falcon XR6 and I recently rebuilt the engine as it had 350,000 KM's on the clock. After I took it for the first test drive after the rebuild I noticed my oil pressure gauge light was on and beeping. I bought a $30 gauge from Autobarn and checked the oil pressure which was really low ( 8 psi when idling and 35 to 40 psi when driving 1500-2000 RPM at 80 KMPH). I thought maybe it could the oil i'm running which is Nulon 15w40 running in oil or the JP standard replacement oil pump which I put in. I Forgot to mention, when the car is cold the stock oil pressure gauge was in the normal position ( just over half way) and the aftermarket gauge would read 45 psi when idling If you guys have any ideas that would be great. Cheers.
