Well its time for a oil change, thinking of getting Penrite HPR15 15w60. anyone use this oil? whats everyone think of it, lifters are getting a lil lound these days.

well any oil really will do the job hey. i mean its not like it a high stressed motor u have so u dont really need to spend big on ur oil

hi

yea i use penrite hpr 30 30/60 in both my fords and i find its a good oil
helps oil pressure and may help engine noise slightly...

so 30/60 good for easing up engine noise then?

my ea use to suffer from low oil pressure after a long drive and the lifters use to tic every now and then.

since ive been using 30/60 the oil pressure is good and the lifters only tic for a few seconds on start up..

the only problem you might have with thicker oil is in winter but if your willing to warm your car up for a few mins befor driving off you wont have any probs .....

that's bloody thick. if you have a choice why would you want to run thick oil? it's not good for the engine, has to work harder, my donks done 650,000km's no rebiuld and runs fine on 15W40 as Ford recomend from new, if you look after them they should be fine, replace your hyrdolic lash adjusters rather. also when you pick an oil keep using the same one, not good to pick and change all the time...
