A good effort from Spider tonight as he won hands down at the several traffic light drags we did. His ED pulled stronger than my EF through out most of the rev range and totally supprised me  to compare his ED you need to take into consideration that he weighs 1559kg compared to 1588kg in the EF. The ED is running a 3.08:1 diff ratio compared to 3.23 in the EF. I have a BBM where as his is the single rail variant. His ED is running an AU XR6 head (recently rebuilt) with an XR6 cam where as my EF is running a std AU cam. The ED runs several V belts and a viscous fan, and the EF has one single serpentine belt and thermos. The EF has a comp ratio of 9.3:1 where as the ED should be at 8.8:1 provided that the AU head has the same cc'd chambers. Both are auto's but all in all Ive gotta take my hat off to ya mate, a bloody good effort 8-)

Nice one spider - looks the goods and got some street cred as well!! Sounds like the head work has been worthwhile.

Jaysen - is 3.23 standard issue in a fairmont?

Yer, 3.08 for all except xrs and ghias got 3.45, anything with a v8 got 3.23 unless fbt or gt with 3.45 lsd, gt having hydratrak. LWB all got 3.23 other than ltd which usually had 3.45.

Thats what im led to believe anyway, might be wrong?
