What's the ideal compression for a worked, naturally aspirated six - and how do I get it?

Haven't decided on a cam yet. Fuel is BP Ultimate 98. At the moment I have only intake/exhaust mods but I'm looking at a complete top-end rebuild for street performance. Will also modify the auto trans and diff ratio.

You may need pistons with smaller cc dish in them yet, depending on cam specs. You'd better take your time in working out what you want it for, and what your going to do with it, or waste time & money.

shaving the head will also net you a slight gain in commpression...

you need to know what cam you want to use befor knowing what the best C.R. is. that being said you're stuck by having to use 98octane fuel. about 10:1 is the most you'll be able to use |

shaving the head isn't a good way to gain compression. Blow a head gasket and their is less meat to fix any warpages before there's no dice. Also can create issues with the timing chain as it stretches.
