When my EB was over heating I took it to the radiator place and got the full job done on it. The tanks were blocked with sand and s**t leaving only 1-1/2 inch of free space. The rest was packed solid. A few weeks later the head gasket went. But at least the cooling system was ok.

What madmax said was dead right, water will still flow through a rad that is 1/2 blocked, enough for you to think that it's flowing nicely.

I'm here too. With this radiator problem I'd have the tank pulled off and cleaned out. EA's had a problem with sand left in the block after casting so that could be your problem.

i have it booked in at nat-rad tomorrow, see how that goes. hopefully it is just a blockage in the radiator and not the head

I took the car into NATRAD on friday, my car is running thermo fans and they told me that the thermos arent as good at the original clutch fan at cooling the engine and thats why my car was over-heating.
Does this sound right? if its the case it looks like the thermos are coming out and the loudass fan is going back in |

Sounds like B.S.
Plenty of people are running thermos maybe you just have to look at what temp they kick in |

they kick in early enough, theres no dramas there.
do the thermos have a speed controller? maybe they just need a bit of a kick in the a** to speed them up a bit |

Did you wire them yourself?
Make sure they are getting 12 volts when on Could be a bad earth or bad joint somewhere |

Make sure they are getting 12 volts when on Could be a bad earth or bad joint somewhere when the car is moving there is sufficient air flowing throu to cool the water as long as the water is flowing, his major problem is "coolant flow". water pump impellers blades corroded or pulley shaft free wheeling.

You are correct about cooling as the car moves, it sounds like a lbocked radiator
I'm just responding to what the experts have told him |

I'm just responding to what the experts have told him sorry dude, I wasn't having a go at you. I myself tend to skip reading all the postings some times.
