can some one shed some light on why when my car gets driven it overflows water out the overflow tube temp gauge shows that it isnt running hot unsure on what it is

When the engine is cold (COLD) take the cap off the overflow bottle and fill it to the brim, start the car and see if it gushes out or there are any bubbles, if you see this then your probably up for a headgasket! :(

had the same problem with a mates AU, we changed the thermostat & radiator cap....... problem gone

cannot be head gasket it was changed 3 days ago ill try the thermostat and radiator cap on monday

All guys,

This is a rather common problem with the type of cooling systems the falcons have,,

Replace the Thermostat
Replace the Radiator cap,

a common fault people mate is failure to remove air from the system, once you fill the system remove the hose from the thermostat housing and let the air out,

Agree i had same issue with my EB thrmostat swaped end of story, speaking of overflows do use no anything about those cool looking metal ones? 8-)
