Does anyone know a part number for i6 UPGRADED rockers?
Installing big cam soon, so while the work is getting done I want to upgrade the rockers. Im told they have issues with cars that are on boost (this comes later) but while the head is being worked on, Id like to upgrade the lot.

Advice would be great. Thanks

I don't think there are upgraded rockers for them, I know some places do billet rockers for them with solid cams.

There is no such this as Ford upgraded rockers for the E series or AU 4.0 I6.

Just how much boost do you intend to run?

Don't forget the first upgrade of the rockers was back in EA/EB1 days....went from 14mm HLA's to 11mm HLA's, and added shims inbetween the rockers and cradles.....then a ratio change and valve spring change with it too in the Hybrid EL's.

Well that will depend on the tuner and the set up. Ideally as little boost as possible to make the maximum gains prior to "that point" you arrive at where you stop seeing worthwhile gains and start receiving negative results and minimal gains.

My Suzuki GTI swift made 170kw atw, running semi slicks, and people sitting on the bonnet. And still the wheels spun. - My point is, it did this at 10psi. So Id like to achieve similar. Good performance at low boost, however I expect performance is the issue here pertaining to the rockers failing, not the amount of boost?

What is your current setup and what camshaft are you getting? The rockers will be completely fine at 10psi. Are you aiming for a power figure or going to see where it takes you?
These engines can make pretty ridiculous power. Its the drive train that gives way before anything in the engine lets go.

Just going to plonk on bolt-ons and see what happens. If like to see if 500HP is attainable. I dont want more than that, even if possible.

CVE stage 1 cam.

the rockers should be fine with 500rwhp. Is the cam going in a worked head. You will need a decent setup for that much power and the T5 box will only handle 300-350rwhp

Are you talking 500hp at the wheels? that is 375RwKw. Lots of other things are going to break other than the rockers. What other work are you having done on the bottom end?

Not so much of an upgrade for performance as an upgrade to improvements with the 11mm HLA's. Smaller rollers as well. With EL Hybrid it was a change in ratio to suit the AU Cam.

375rwkw you will snap your t5 in half, not literally but you get the point,

Courtesy of another member on here, this is what happens at 430rwkw on a stock I6,

Thanks for the help guys.. Thats some pretty impressive A: power from a stock E series with bolt ons and B: Gear box got smashed!!

Whats the gear box of choice for boosted E series? Clearly no internal mods are going to make up for the entire housing breaking off. Thats nuts!!

Does anyone have a link to that build thread? It would be goo to have a read.
