Hey guys, still new to these forums but love it so far! Very helpful!!
Recently got a pay rise and with tax around the corner, looking to put a bit of money into my beloved 98 XH ute!

Only problem is i wouldn't know where to start with this as i know the very very very bare minimum about what goes on under the hood!
i desperately want help on how to improve the performance, i live with a bloke with a VS 5L 5 speed and im sick of his s**t :P
long term goal = Turbo (XR6 Turbo from BA hopefully)
At the moment anything would help,

cheers guys!!!

lol i know its not gonna beat it.. being an XH. doesn't really have many issues at the moment, getting the essentials like new brakes and pads and exhaust and what not, just after some ideas on how to make it a bit better

Makes the car run. Without the ECU, nothing works!

hey man dont have to put up with his s**t, holden 5L is a s**t motor that belongs on the ocean floor, if it was an ls series different story
few good mods, lots of hard work and a good tun(er) cand you will see 170+ at the rears of that baby naturally aspirated, which is good for (with a good driver and some grip) high to mid 13's
or just wait, get your tax return and buy a snort turbo kit and go from there :)

hey mate, ive got an XG with 3.45 diff which is pretty well suited for highway and city driving.you could go 3.7 if you wanted for a bit better pick up but that comes down to persdonal preference, start with an exhaust and cam and you cant really go wrong.
