i got a 2 and a half inch cat back exhaust fitted and it sounds great, but was just wondering would a performance cat do much for the sound or performance and how much would it cost to get done? any help or suggestions would be great

performance, not really, pretty much negligible probably like 1rwkw (if you're lucky)
BUT it definitely makes it a bit louder and sounds better I reckon (i'm running a 2.5" metal cat)

Value for money, considering a h/f stainless internal cat will cost a few hundred, change your headers dude. Will sound heaps better and give you a much better power increase for the money. Unless you have the cash to do both, leave the cat for later. The 3 kw or so is hard to justify for the money unless everything else is done.
