my brother had to put a spacer ring under his sub woofer in his fairlane when he converted it to gas
i've got a set of pioneer speakers ts-205, pretty old and have been reconed but still sound good, they are 3way speakers with an 8in woofer but they also have a tapered housing so that they fit into a 6in hole, so they fit onto the stock speaker holes just perfect, i've had them in my last 5 cars, when i sell the car just stick an el-cheapo pair of 6in speakers in and keep my pioneers |

gas cars can go good when you're not running a crappy setup.
Impco and Gas Research both provide performance LPG setups that with the right fuel and ignition tuning can easily give similar performance to petrol cars

there isnt any tanks that will fit where the factory petrol tank goes.
and if there was, it'd be so small i'd only use it as a backup. the other problem is clearance problems of fitting tanks under cars like ours, especially if lowered.

the wagon fuel tank is a different shape to the sedan one isnt it?
i don't think it'd go anywhere near fitting as the spare wheel well is in the way. if u can remove the sparewheel well then u'll have heaps of room!

yes, but you can't fit a spare wheel where the petrol tank goes in an sedan.

Who gives a phark about the price of conversion. I had my EL converted as soon as I got it, to a Gasresearch sytem. Cost a packet. Goes well, better than on petrol, But it is the phsycological ( I think i spelt that rite) factor of only paying 45 c/l as against 109 c/l. Add on 12 odd c/l and allow for inflation, it still turns out cheaper than petrol
I reckon I'm gonna take 10 years to break even. |

They don't put the spare wheel in place of the fuel tank on wagons either. They generally move the wheel into the cargo area though that probably isn't practical in a sedan either, especially if you have huge-a** ricer wheels.

In practice and from experience the LPG cars seem to show better longevity than their petrol counterparts. It's a route I'll be taking once it can be proved that the commercially available injection LPG setups will handle +200kw. Saw a Parnell gas injection setup the other day on a Ford F250 running a 5.4lt V8 complete with nice exhaust as well.

Like to explain how Ford put LPG tanks under the car in place of the petrol tank.Straight gas AU Falcon gets about 600ks to a tank so must be a raesonable size
