im changin my 1990 ea spac from a 4sp auto to a 5sp manual,i changed the auto on an 88 ea wagon but that had the 3 sp auto,on my ea s pac i have noticed down on the drivers side floor next to where the clutch pedal is going to sit is a module. Is this the auto module and will it affect anything with it dissconected with the manual box in it?also the wiring on the manual has an 8 pin and 1 pin plug, the 4sp at has 2 8 pin plugs with no 1 pin plug, what is the 1 pin plug for?am i gong to have to splice one of the other wires to wire it in?

I'm not really sure but I know your pain.
I'm in a simular situation atm. In an auto the ECU controls when the gears shift and in a manual I don't think they do??? So maybe that's what the different wires are for. |

Nope, shouldn't affect a thing as it should only really interact with the auto, and that'll be gone!

i think the EA to early ED had a seperate TCM module that changed gears etc etc but i am sure you need to resister trick the auto ecu to stop it sending info back and fourth trying to find revs etc etc but what do i know i haven't done this yet COME ON TAX MONEY
