what distance is it between the lifters and tappets and what tension do u put down on your head bolts for an 96 ef please help

Cylinder head bolts:

Step 1: 40nm
Step 2: 90°


I couldn't find anything in the manual about the distance between lifters and tappets.

They are hydraulic, so they don't need a gap to be set.

if your are using a AU head gasket, which is a common mod. tightening is different.

step 1: 30nm
step 2: 120 degrees.
