You won't benefit fromt he cam if the engine is still struggling to exhale, so the obvious way to be would be extractors/exhaust first.

^ what he said. by adding more gasses to the equation, the log manifold can't deal with the cam over lap and the pressure will build up. pritty much, you may only get 60% of what the cam could give without the zorst.
plus, the extractors are the start of it. the standard exhaust has too many log jams and bottlenecks (size, bends, cat) remember there is a 3 inch pipe of cold air going in the motor and a 2 and a bit inch pipe venting hot gas of a greater volume. you could leave the cat and just go the stractors and zorst at this stage and still pick up a noticable kw increase

Do exhaust and extractors at the same time.
About $1000 for Pacemakers and 2.5" exhaust with chrome oval tip. If you want one hell tough sounding exhaust only get them to put the centre muffler in and no hotdogs or other mufflers. I guarantee it will sound like a V8. 10-15kw gain. |

Are Lukey or HM Headers extractors good? Which are better? As I might be able to get a discount on em at work.

Don't know about it sounding like a V8 though...sounds like a hot 6 to me...then again, one of my mates commented that it was disappointing because it sounded like a V8 (he is a 6 fiend)... |

when i got my exhaust i made sure to request the sound i was after (rasspy SIX) i DID NOT want it to sound like an 8, if you want your car to sound like an 8 buy an 8.
as for headers make sure you plan what you do there, i bought headers suited to high rpm, and a high rpm cam, lets just say that SUCKS with an auto, but should be great with the manual. btw, my exhaust is an 7rwkw loss to having open headers (tested same hour, same dyno, same headers), |

If you can only do one for now and have to wait till later to do the other then do the CAM FIRST - all this stuff about HAVING to do the exhaust first is s**t - you will feel precisely...... f**k all by just doing the exhaust - but if you just do the cam straight up then you will notice a definite improvement. There is absolutely no doubt you will not be getting the best out of your new cam until you also do the exhaust - especially toward the top end, but you will be getting something out of it straight away and this you will FEEL.
And as far as doing the exhaust - do the cat back first, THEN the extractors later - it's the same sort of thing - you'll get much better benefit straight up and then can build on this later by doing the extractors.
