Oh 25psi is perfect, your rim diameter is effectively changing your gear ratios,

Uhh probably not - 16s and 18s most likely had the same rolling dia, which means nothing changed there.

I am fairly sure the rolling diameter did very slightly increase with the 18's even though they had the right profile tyres. Likewise there would have been a decrease in diameter with less pressure; these would have contributed to a quicker ET no doubt. The point I was making though was that I got better grip with the 16's due to more sidewall, and then better grip again with less pressure.

Anyway back on topic with the thread; I only just noticed the power level - to be pulling that through an auto I am assuming the cam would be pretty big, I would definately say get it tuned and play around with the cam as per fordfreaks first post.

First off and i don't know why no one has pointed this out yet.
Your ET means s**t all, there are too many factors involved with the ET. You can't use it to gauge power.

What were your trap speeds?

If you have just jammed a cam in the thing chances are you have moved the power band up. combine that with stock gearing and over sized tyre/wheel combo and yes you car ET will suffer.

I run 16in rims with 225/50 tyres, no complaints.

I had 18's, beside my factory 15's they were roughly 10cm's taller/diameter which thats normal then theres a huge difference, i was running the new ford stud pattern though, if that influences anything.

Sorry if ive angered anyone with my posts, ive gone in pretty hard with ideas that go against everyone elses and im lucky to not have been flamed :) so thanks for taking it well, hope you guys dont hate me, lol.

Bought the car like that, it had the BA/BF stud pattern, i was too tired to think of what they were called, so i said newer, as in, newer then the E series s.p. :)

I know you increase the outter diameter so you can run a softer tyre, as you have a greater ratio of tyre cooling :)

Yeh stud pattern still makes no sense, at all. Stud pattern hasnt changed for like 30 years - the OFFSET has changed... though it still makes no difference to a 1/4 run.... tyre cooling??? anyway..

I hope he meant 10mm skidder...

unusual.... you gained 1/10th on the 60 footer, and lost 2/10th's by the end of the track :?

It'd be either his tune is fkd, or fairly average shifts or shift points.. or a combination.

the wade 1673 (i think thats the one? the biggest one?)
also got the tb that 69mm? (thinking of taking this out as my fuel economy has gone out the window since fitting it.

Im shifting at around 5500, and diff gears are tickford 3,45's lsd.

besides that everything is the same, oh and ofcourse the 19" wheels, but according to an online calculator its only +0.1 rolling diametre, but still made a big difference that i could feel.
