My carsis idleing at 1100 dropping to 900 and back to 1100 over and over.
Its not the ics. Throttle body. Throttle cable. Or vacuum leaks.
Im now thinking head gasket or timing. But the oil isn't milky and the coolant is clean. The engine stays coolish and it does sound lumpy fromthe back of the car.

So can the timing cause a car to idle high and varieng.

You may need to reset the ECU....and base idle & timing.

I don't have a timing light. But I will book it in tomorro I guess.
Would it be worth re setting the ecu anyway. How do I do that?

how do you know its not the isc? when and how did it start happening?
in all my e series hunting was caused by faulty isc.
also in my experience changin an isc without a ecu reset and base idle reset will give poor if not worse results than a faulty isc
leave your battery disconnected over night is how i reset mine .
reseting ecu in mine seems to make things worse for a few hundred kms is all.
if you want to reset the base idle make sure you do it properly.
i dont think setting your base idle will stop it hunting just hunt in different revs.

Well I cleaned my ics so I figured it wasn't it. But it could just be buggered I guess.
It happened when it was raining and I was driving around. Only did 1 skid.
Maybe I got moisture in through my pod or something.
When I cleaned it it did make it worse because it was idleing way higher and hunting way more.
Would it be worth going to a dismantelers and getting one to see if it is because of the ics.
Id rather exhaust the cheaper options before I gotta pay my mechanic 88$ph to fix it.
