The EB Gregories one was good, but I have to say the Ellerys one is s**t compared.
As for O2 sensors... The O2 sensor is a voltage source - that is it creates its own voltage. The bits that do that go bad over time - it starts with the sensor getting slower, and then non responsive. One of the most usefull things to have in your car is an O2 meter connected to the O2 Sensor. You can tell if its working, and its quite interesting to watch on an E-Series. O2 meters are also much faster than your typical DMM. Weirdest thing to watch the car go into lean cruise.... It just drops off the dial!. |

How so... Lean cruise on an I6 is only 14.5 to 14.8:1 |

that settles it.. I will invest in a new one.. I used my old one when swapping to the extractors and although it runs well, it's probably worth it..
does it have to be genuine ford? I've seem aftermarket ones going for 50-60 bucks and wondered if they are acceptable? |

Which is by sensor reading, off the dial. The Narrowband sensors dont have much resolution at that point

Just wanted to re-iterate this question as I was about to buy an O2 sensor.
I've seem aftermarket ones going for 50-60 bucks and wondered if they are acceptable? I was going to buy a 3 wire after market that says it suits EA-ED (and most other) falcons. |

No such think as aftermarket in this case, considering NGK and Bosch make the O2 sensors for Ford.
So if you buy a sensor made by a reputable company like that, you are getting generally whatever the factory fits on the production line. |

I brought one off ebay didnt say what brand it was cost me 60 bucks seems to work fine

is this tread about the car being gutless or just not being about to light up?
sometimes its good that u can't e.g cheaper on tyres and keep out of trouble...its fun doing it but it sucks looking and you got no tread or any money to replace it and cleaning the rubber off the guards. I dunno what you pay there for a tyre but $300 a tyre here aint worth smoking up (tho its hard not to) |

being able to smoke the tyres isnt everything..
here is something to think about. how does the car go compared to other cars? does it rev ok? how healthy is the engine? what size tyres are under it and is the gearbox good? how good are your rear brakes? you need to take all these things into consideration.. eg; a car with stock old tyres,worn rear brakes,a lower diff ratio,a strong engine and box will smoke the tyres fairly easy.. and a car with new soft wider tyres,good rear brakes,a clapped out engine and a tired auto will struggle to smoke up............. |

17" x 235 firestones with a 2.92 diff, still hard not to spin in straight line in the wet even at 80kays in 3rd, sometimes 4th at 100 with a bit of steer
few mods though..

1st in the 5spd is still un-tractable in the dry though. needs to be taller. 2nd isn't too bad with good tyres on good road.
