Get a shift kit installed, Then you'll really know the diff between ego, norm & rock solid shift points when you flick the toggle switch.

So basically POWER mode is like a commodore (lots of revs) and ECONOMY mode is only on falcons (has the torque to do it)

The power/econcomy button on all ford 4 speed autos only changes the shift points in the computer. Power holds gears longer, economy will always search for the highest gear possible, unless you give it s**t, in this case under economy it will keep to the rev range where it produces the most torque while conserving pertol(pre mass determined specifcation by ford). Under power mode its go for gold, ring it out until you loose pulling power, then next gear and do it all over again

in reality the normal \ econ button is a waste of time. I tried it for about 350km and using trip computer "avg fuel consumption" and "L per 100km" did not vary AT ALL between the two modes...

Mmm... you may as well leave it on normal mode, and be able to utilise the full rpm range of each gear.

It aways made a small differece in my old NFii, got an extra 40 kms out of the tank if driven fairly equal, if driving over lots of hills it will make a bigger difference so i found.
