I dropped in the waggot and made 10 kw straight away, and then with some dialing on the dyno I got the result you see below. Chiptourqe doesn't use crow cams anymore in their packages due to them being unreliable. And as far as my tuner being s**t, the car is untuned and still makes good power with the only other power mods being 3" intake, extractors and exhaust.

What does it pull down the quarter? May be a bit gnarly, but entirely based on past experiences Not my own personal experiences, but experiences of other cars, which have pulled on the CMS dyno and gone to other places and within the same hour have gained 30rwkw (a bit more than 10%!), and it's not just like this only happens with one specific shop! Could be something to do with differences between the mainline dyno and other dynos, i'm not too sure. Never taken it to the quarter, but am told by those in the know that it feels like it would run 14.8-14.9. Tuning isn't finalised, so hoping maybe to shave a tenth or two off that? Particularly down low, takes forever to reach 60, but i know from 60-120 it pulls away from CV8's, stays with my mates r33 gts25t (although he obliterates me on takeoff) and nearly stays with VT/VX SS's, so it's got something good about it Maybe if i chuck in a hi-stall and my tranny cooler, i might take it to the strip one day skidder wrote: ebxr82nv wrote: The cms dyno is notorious for being around 10% lower than other dynos. Seems to be a common trait for mainline dynos I know Joe's stuff is good, but that's pretty impressive if its pulling over 150rwkw with only a cam, exhaust and tune A lot of people who have been in my car have not expected it to have the punch that it has My mate in his r33 definately didnt expect me to keep up with him, lol.. But yeah, she's a pretty impressive machine. So far Joe's cam and tune has been good for 20rwkw (keep in mind this is only his stg2!) He has got a stg3 and another stg2 auto cam which gives even better results!

Yeah, they are pretty stout numbers considering its his smallest off the shelf cam. Would be good to see it go down the quarter.

debating dyno figures is pretty pointless though, you have to admit. Run it down the track a few times, and you see soon enough how much power its got.
with 163rwkw, you should see mid 14's at least. People have run high 14's with 40 less kw than that |

163rwkw should see a 13 sec pass, OED666 went 13.8@99mph with 166rwkw....

Hopefully the tuning for this cam will be complete next Saturday, Joe is very confident of breaking 145 on his dyno, which would be 155-160 on a dynodynamics dyno. After that, probably gonna put in his stg2A Cam, which probably wont result in more top end power, but should add anywhere between 30-50Nm, which would put it over 400Nm. ( I have seen some results from this cam and the avg torque has been over 400, with peak around 420 i think ) I might take it down to the track after i chuck in that cam, along with my tranny cooler. Keep in mind all this hasn't happened overnight, I'm his guinea pig basically. I reckon i have been there 10-15 Saturdays in the last 9 months and had well over 100 dyno pulls, some have gone forwards, some backwards, it's all a learning process

dyno figures are debatable and not really a true representation. the only thing that speaks is your ET. wether you have 140 at the treads on one dyno, and then 160 on another (with out changes like iterated before) doesnt make your et any faster.
dyno numbers are for one thing only: bragging rights before heading down the strip. Id hate to get on a generous dyno, say to everyone ive got 160 rwk, then get beaten by something with much less. its not expensive to run down the strip either, cheaper than a power run on the rollers. Get her down there before and after mods so you can really see what difference they make in the real world.

i agree, however even times down the track can be misleading how much power its got. Ive made good power on a dyno, but have had some shocking runs down the strip from a few issues here & there..... ive ran times that were worse than stock

I totaly agree with you fordfairmont but it's not the times down the quarter it's the speed MPH or KPH.
