Noticed a oil weep from power steering pipe that goes into the bottom of the pump.
Nut is as tight as it will go & pipe still has a little bit of play in it still. Is there a O ring or something that could have worn? Has never been taken off to my knowledge!

Hi
Yes there is an O'ring. Replace it before it goes completely. BenJ

Thanks for that, do you know if its rubber or metal.
If rubber, would same size from my O ring kit be alright Or must it be a ford part? Cheers, Spider

It is Rubber.
When my O'Ring went, I just used one from an O'Ring kit and it worked a treat. BenJ

if its leaking from the pipe and not the large 1" nut flush on the pump you will either have to replace the high pressure hose completely as you cannot access the o ring inside the nut or cheap fix that will work sometimes
1: cut the nut off the high pressure hose very very carefully in half , remove c clip and replace - nut is available as a ford spare part #FO-BA 3F656 B - approx $10 2: or even easier you could place a 5/16" x 9/16" x 1/8" VITON or DURO90 'O' ring on the front part of the pipe i think its part #bs203 - i got one from a seal place including 2 new o ring seals # bs011 for the rack for $1 DONT use a normal o ring as it will not last - viton or the duro90 have a high temperature rating and are better suited for hydraulic oils |

So do you replace it yearly????? I Ford hoses are the best & they are this bad, Then maybe I should consider getting one made as Tiny56 suggested! Will have to look into this more.

No, i let it leak till the weather warms up.
The seals are not as flexible in the cold

just try wat i said - go buy a quality viton or duro90 9/16 x 5/16 x 1/8
'o' ring and shove it in there and problem solved for < 1$ this will work on ef/l series guaranteed but i think u got 'ba' and im unsure if its exactly the same - on the ef/l the pipe extends a liitle bit after the nut and the o rings fits perfectly on this and seals great |
