I'm not saying yours is out of spec, but it is something to check and eliminate as a suspect. My EA that I had used to do the same thing, and only in the same spot....a particular corner....not a 90* corner, but a 120* , right hander, open corner, off camber, and crossed 4 lanes, so when there was a break in the traffic ( no lights, just a giveway sign), I would gun it around, and next thing the steering was heavy.....did it several times.....til I didn't gun it as hard, then it didn't do it. I never figured out why....but the harmonic balancer on it was sus though.

Il try to have another look this afternoon at it, get the good old string out and see how good the pulleys are. I was planin to pull the motor out and put a new sump gasket in it and other things to stop it leaking oil. Want to sort this out first, especially if I wanna throw a turbo on it oneday. No point if u can't put your foot into it

had a quick look this afternoon as my car is not kept at my place, it looks as if the balencer has come forward. im basing this on the air con belt looks like its sitting off the crowned part of the tensioner pulley, and there is a rust mark there which looks like thats where the belt has been rubbing. i tryed to add a pic but it said it was oversized or something dumb.
does the aircon belt sit hard up against the rear of the tensioner pulley?? theres a few mm gap on mine..

You have the a/c belt incorrectly installed....the belt goes under the tensioner pulley....not on top.
