Hey guys tonight my power steering belt slipped off the pulleys and im gonna have to get in there and mess with the tensioner to get it all back on and what not..

Anyway, How does one go about tensioning the belt? I've heard theres a procedure to doing it.. something to do with tightening the bolt to tension the belt or something.. anyway,

any help will be appreciated, thanks!

glenn, its all the thrashing you do!!!!!!

the P/S one is pretty easy. bassicly undo the big nut (24mm) a bit slide down the pully. pop belt back on tighten up big nut a bit then use a 13mm spanner and turn the middle nut clockwise to put tension on the belt. you may have to tighten big nut up a bit more if it keeps slipping down when you put tension on it. once you got it to the right tension tighten up big nut so its held in firm. you shouldnt have anymore than 1 cm flex either way on the belt.

i used to carry those exact sizes in my car untill i converted to serpentine belt :P

For anyone else interested, the size is actually a 24mm, or 15/16. One fits into my sidchrome set just nicely :D
