i have read its normal for ba's to do it, the fluid looks ok, and is at good level
does anyone know a way of fixing this, the sound i have heard before when my dads vn was out of oil
so im thinking its air in the line, surely its worked its way out by this time?

air will usually work its self out after full lock ither way, my guessing is pump. there cheap enough now to swap the whole unit out. might need a flush, the stuff does break down over time.
