hey every 1 im having some problems with my power steering when i turn at slow speeds its shutters and viabrates heaps and the oil is very black doese any body no what it could be and i was wondering if an ef powersteering pump would fit in the ea

Since you said the fluid was black I would say the problem is old fluid/ lack of maintenance.

Flush the old crap out with fresh fluid, make sure there is no air in the system and see how it goes.

Use the newer stuff, R1-424 power steering fluid, it doesn't go black and lasts longer. I have it in my 88EA, no probs.

flush the old s**t out and see how it goes , also to answer ya your question bout fittin an ef pump to youe ea yes it can be done just change the pulley as ea-ed run a v belt ef- au run a serpintine but ea- au run same pump even some holdens have the same pump

Do you have any leaks anywhere?? My EA did that for a bit, and i replaced the switch (think thats wat its called) and changed the fluid then all was well.

no leaks that i can see
cheers guy ill change fluid and if its still fuked ill borow a mates pulla and change it over

My EA had the slow speed and stationary shuddering.
Pedders told me that they shudder anyway and there was no magic fix.
