Ey,

I keep losing powersteering fluid, and i know my rack needs replacing  .

however, the fuild not only leaks, but when i check it after ive run the pump, its filled with tiny bubbles that give it like a milky layer on top. I assume this is air from the leak being brought back to the pump.

My question is how urgently do i need to get this fixed, i have to get my car serviced in 1400 k's, is this waiting too long? I'll probably cover those in 2 weeks coz im going away for the long weekend.

Also, how much will i be hit for? any recommnadations in the canberra area (if urgent) or melbourne (if can wait 3 weeks and approx 1600 k's?)

Thanks

so long as you keep toping up the fluid so that the pump doesn't run dry and s**t itself it might last, but also the leak/problem might get bigger and worse, so it's depends on how serious it is and that I guess.
the fluid will probably also be running along the bottom of the car and cover the gearbox and stuff in oil and making it a bit messy down there. might be an idea to give it a wipe every now and then if your gunna wait to fix it.

The ford racks and pumps are good! mine leaks like a sieve, but i just keep topping it up when it groans (every four days?) and go from there. Probably put through 5 litres and 10000 kays since it started leaking. Ive now been banned from the shed and am on the grass, but hopefully that will be sorted in a fortnight :D Just keep the thing with plenty of oil, and wait it out i guess.
