Hi All,
So I recently bought a 2002 ba falcon ute, standard 6 cyclinder. The guy I bought it from told me it needed a new O2 sensor and the reason the engine light was on. It was clearly stuffed as it was guzzling the fuel, running at about 103 ltrs to 100 km. I changed the O2 sensor today, disconnected the battery and once done reconnected and let idle to temperature. Took it for about 15 minute cruise and at the moment is down to 22.6 ltrs to 100km. Now the problem that is still present is that if I start the engine and change to either reverse or drive the check engine light come s back on and has a very rough almost stuttering idle and the acceleration is dead, engine won't rev at all. So I've worked out to not have this issue and drive it, I do the following. Start the car and rev it above 3000. It then changes and drives fine. Its also an automatic. Any one have any ideas what the cause is or had the same issue. I'm stuck. Cheers |

Sounds like ur still having fueling issues with the 22lts @100k. Look at the map sensor. Or maybe even a throttle position sensor.
