Hi peoples,

I scored a huge thermo fan that is almost the same diameter as the old clutch fan blade.. in fact it fits really nicely in the shroud, so I was thinking about ditching the old engine driven fan and installing the thermo in its place.

Unfortunately, I do not have the temperature swiching system to turn it on when the engine needs it..

What options do I have? I'd like it to turn on and off as needed, but failing that turning on when the thermostat would do I guess.

any tips?

(Does anyone know if you can buy the switching gear for aftermarket thermo's without the fan itself?)

ya they do but about $80 odd

meh i would just wire it in so when the engine is running so is the fan simple

OR for a cheaper measure grab a 12v relay and switch and wire it up
witht eh switch on the inside of the cab

Thanks, but that's OK...

Just noticed that Supercheap has Davies Craig 40-100c adjustable controllers here for $55 and they are only 1km away from here. :-)

yeah, the one with the relays etc was $69, but I used to fit car alarms for a job... I've got a huge box of relays and I've fitted thousands in my life so I don't envisage any issues..

thanks again though.

nope... I am frank or franki that is all..

you can be franky if you like.
besides, it does sound kinda discoish..

Anyway, this is way OT now, so unless we want to get shot by the mods we should probably lay off. :-)

My real name is Franz anyway.. just been called frank most of my life. :-)
